What is Krav Maga?

Krav Maga is a practical self-defense system developed for real-life situations — and created for everyone and every body.
It focuses on simple, effective techniques that help you protect yourself and your loved ones in everyday scenarios. Whether you’re new to training or already active, Krav Maga builds awareness, adaptability, and confidence so you can come home safe at the end of the day.

What’s the difference between Krav Maga and martial arts/ MMA ?

Unlike traditional martial arts or MMA, which often emphasize competition, tradition, or sport, Krav Maga is designed purely for self-defense.
It covers real-world threats such as multiple attackers, weapon defense, and different environments or surfaces — situations most martial arts don’t include.
Our training also uses scenario-based drills to teach strong self-defense principles and realistic reactions for staying safe during daily life or work.

Do I need to be fit or flexible to start Krav Maga?

Not at all! WA Krav Maga welcomes people of all fitness levels and backgrounds.
You don’t need to be in shape to begin. Classes are designed so everyone can train safely and progress at their own pace. Over time, you’ll naturally improve strength, mobility, and endurance while learning valuable self-protection skills.

Can I train if I have limited mobility or an old injury?

Yes. Krav Maga is adaptable to your range of motion and physical ability.
Our instructors will modify techniques so you can train safely, build confidence, and enjoy the benefits of self-defense regardless of your limitations.

What equipment do I need for Krav Maga classes?

For your first class, wear comfortable workout clothing and bring water.
If you continue training, we recommend:

  • Mouthguard

  • Groin guard (for men and women)

  • Boxing or MMA gloves

  • Forearm or shin guards (optional for some drills)

Our team can guide you on where to purchase the right gear locally or online.

How big are the Krav Maga classes?

WA Krav Maga keeps group classes small and focused — usually between 4 and 15 participants.
This ensures individual attention and a safe, friendly environment for learning.
Private self-defense sessions can include up to 6 people, perfect for one-on-one or small-group training.

How long is a Krav Maga class and what does it include?

Each class runs for 60 minutes and combines fitness, striking, and real-world self-defense techniques.
You’ll practice efficient movements, drills, and scenarios that prepare you to respond under pressure, leaving every session stronger, safer, and more confident.

Do you offer private or corporate self-defense workshops?

Yes. WA Krav Maga offers private training, small-group sessions, and corporate self-defense workshops across Perth.
These can be customised for personal safety, workplace risk management, or team-building. Contact us to discuss your goals or to request a quote.
